March, 2013 - Due to changing priorities for the members of the planning team, the seminar has been postponed to 2014. The team are also looking for partner organizations to help develop the program for the seminar. More information about the background to this change will be in David's blog over the next few weeks.
Policy implications of the end of economic growth.
Only a crisis - actual or perceived - produces real change. When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. That, I believe is our basic function: to develop alternatives to existing policies, to keep them alive and available until the politically impossible becomes the politically inevitable. Milton Friedman
Welcome to the website for the seminar Living Well Without Growth to be held in Launceston Tasmania in 2013. This seminar will enable those ideas lying around to sit up and receive some attention as well as enable new ideas to be created and developed.
Check out the quote from Milton Friedman above and click here to read about why this seminar is happening.
At this stage, we don't know exactly when it will be but if you keep an eye on this website, you will be among the first to know.
This website is starting out as a repository of information and resources about the end of economic growth. Click here to check out ideas already lying around
